In a surprising twist, Tesla has introduced a scaled-down version of its Cybertruck, catering specifically to a younger audience. Priced at a modest $1,500, the kid-friendly rendition boasts a design reminiscent of its full-sized counterpart, complete with functional headlights and taillights for an authentic experience.
Targeted at children aged 6 to 12, the two-seater Cybertruck for Kids maintains a maximum weight capacity of 150 lbs (68 kg). Its electric prowess is derived from a 500-watt (0.7 hp) motor, propelling the rear wheels and achieving speeds of up to 10 mph (16 km/h). For cautious parents, a speed-limiting option allows a more manageable 5 mph (8 km/h).
The miniature electric vehicle runs on a lithium-ion battery pack, promising a range of up to 12 miles (19 km). Equipped with features such as “electric braking” and reverse functionality, this downsized Cybertruck ensures a safe and enjoyable riding experience for young enthusiasts. The inclusion of rubber tires further enhances the overall driving experience.
Measuring 66 inches (1,676 mm) in length and weighing 158 lbs (72 kg), the kid-friendly Cybertruck mirrors the distinctive aesthetics of the original model. However, with Tesla’s shipping restrictions limiting delivery to the contiguous United States, acquiring one may prove challenging.
Despite the current unavailability, Tesla has assured eager customers that deliveries will commence in late December. As anticipation builds, it seems that even the youngest Tesla fans will have to wait a little longer to unwrap their miniature electric joy ride.
