Vienna Police Rev Up for Santa’s Ride, Bringing Holiday Joy to Young Patients

In a heartwarming collaboration, Vienna police officers are teaming up with Santa Claus and various Northern Virginia law enforcement agencies for a festive initiative named Santa’s Ride. The mission is to spread holiday cheer among young patients at Fairfax Hospital and Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center, as well as underprivileged children in the community.

Armed with donated toys and surprises, Vienna’s finest will ride alongside Santa Claus on motorcycles, ensuring that the spirit of the season reaches those who need it most. Residents of Vienna eager to contribute to this noble cause can drop off new, unwrapped toys, games, books, and gifts at designated locations, including the Vienna Police Department, Vienna Community Center, and Vienna Town Hall. The deadline for donations is 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023.

On Tuesday, Dec. 12, police officers from multiple jurisdictions will escort Santa to local schools and government buildings to collect the donated items. The gifts will then be delivered to hospitals and distributed to children in need throughout the community. The impressive coalition supporting Santa’s Ride 2023 includes the Fairfax County Police Department, Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office, City of Fairfax Police Department, Falls Church Sheriff’s Office, Herndon Police Department, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, Vienna Police Department, and Virginia State Police.
