Tragedy Strikes as 15-Year-Old Cyclist Fatally Hit by Car on Route to School

In a heartbreaking incident, a 15-year-old student named Myles Farago lost his life after being struck by a Dodge Charger while biking to school in Hudson, Florida. The tragic event unfolded on Thursday morning around 6:30 at the intersection of Thompson Avenue and Kitten Trail.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 31-year-old driver of the Charger was traveling eastbound on Kitten Trail when he encountered the bicyclist in the travel lane. The dark, unlighted roadway coupled with the absence of lights on the teen’s bike created a hazardous situation.

Despite the driver’s efforts to avoid a collision, the Charger collided with the back of Myles Farago’s bike, resulting in severe injuries for the 15-year-old. Unfortunately, Farago was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Emergency services rushed him to the hospital, but, tragically, Myles succumbed to his injuries. The Hudson Academy, where Myles was a student, shared the devastating news on Facebook, expressing their grief and remembering him as a kind, caring, and talented individual.

“It is with a heavy heart that we are informing students and staff today about the passing of one of our Cobra students. Due to an unfortunate accident on the way to school, Myles Farago was struck by a car. He is being remembered as a kind, caring, and talented student,” the post read.

This incident serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of road safety, especially during the early morning hours when visibility is compromised. The local community is coming together to support Myles’ family and friends during this difficult time.
