Chandler, AZ – In a heartwarming joint effort, Boeing employees joined forces with students from the Si Se Puede Foundation STEM Center in Chandler to modify electric ride-on toy cars, bringing boundless joy to five disabled children. These children, handpicked by the nonprofit Magical Tours, are aged between 3 to 8 and face developmental and physical disabilities.
On September 30, it was an all-hands-on-deck operation, as the volunteers worked tirelessly to adapt the toy cars for the young recipients. The goal? To not only provide the children with a fun mode of transportation but to also assist them in improving their social, motor, and developmental growth.
Boeing employees Max De La Cruz and Fernando Hernandez were among the volunteers who dedicated their skills and time to this heartwarming initiative. Alongside them were students Stephen Hooks, Sarah Parker, Audi Yazzie, Roberta Trevino, Damien Mendoza, Jaydip Mehta from Magical Motors, Darsh Bhakta, Glen Pohle, and Nitika Satish, who were all instrumental in the project.
With soldering, wiring, and electrical connections taking center stage, these volunteers transformed the ride-on cars into customized, empowering vehicles that these children can enjoy. As the day drew to a close, there was no doubt that these five children were eagerly anticipating their new rides, filled with joy and a sense of newfound independence.
The collaboration between Boeing and Si Se Puede Foundation STEM Center, united in their goal to make a positive impact on the lives of these young ones, demonstrates the incredible power of teamwork and compassion. As the children set off on their new adventures, they do so with the knowledge that their community cares for them and is dedicated to making their world a brighter place.
This heartwarming event serves as a reminder of the potential for goodwill and the transformative power of technology, compassion, and human connection.
