In the ever-evolving landscape of luxury sedans, the 2024 Lexus IS proves that there’s no such thing as too much selection. Despite the third-generation model tracing its roots back to 2014, Lexus continues to up the ante, introducing subtle upgrades and three new packages to cater to diverse preferences.
With a range of 10 models, the 2024 Lexus IS caters to a spectrum of tastes, all while keeping an eye on challenging the dominance of Germany’s leading contenders. Prices, inclusive of freight, PDI, and dealer fees, span from $49,976 to $81,476.
The entry-level IS 300 AWD, powered by a robust 260-horsepower 3.5-litre V6, now boasts the F SPORT DESIGN package. This package includes an 8-inch touchscreen, power moonroof, heated steering wheel, 19-inch F SPORT alloy wheels, F SPORT Exterior Appearance Package, rear spoiler, and more. Additionally, the F SPORT 2 trim now includes a power tilting/telescoping steering column.
For 2024, the IS 300 AWD F SPORT 3 debuts as an all-new package, featuring a premium 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, triple-beam LED headlamps, and a Panoramic View Monitor system.
The IS 350 AWD, equipped with a 311-horsepower V6, introduces a power tilting/telescoping steering column in F SPORT 2 trim. This trim level also includes clearance and back-up sensors, parking support brake, and black window frames. The F SPORT 3 model adds an extra touch with a distinctive rear spoiler.
At the zenith of the lineup, the high-performance IS 500 RWD, boasting a formidable 5.0-litre V8 generating 472 horsepower, stands out in 2024 with a Special Appearance Package. This package includes 19-inch forged BBS wheels, floor mats with blue stitching, and an exclusive Blue Vector body color. A power tilting/telescoping steering column is also introduced in this model.
Regrettably, the 2024 Lexus IS falls short of adopting the cutting-edge Lexus Interface infotainment system. Despite its vast advancements and user-friendly features compared to the outdated Lexus Enform system, it seems the company may be reserving this upgrade for the next generation.
Rumors circulating suggest that a new IS model is set to debut in 2025 as a 2026 model, with speculations even hinting at a potential all-electric transformation. The question remains: Are you prepared to exercise patience for the next chapter in the Lexus IS saga?
